New Zealand's Yellow Pages has reportedly reaffirmed its directory assistance outsourcing arrangements in the Philippines despite growing dissatisfaction with customer service.
In a statement published by New Zealand media, Yellow CEO Bruce Cotterill was quoted as saying that "we have received feedback from callers to 018 that the service they received was below the level they were used to; having to spell place names and occasionally being given the wrong number."
Cotterill was reported to have said that training for TeleTech staff in Manila, which "includes Maori pronunciation, Kiwi accents and colloquialisms, and familiarity with New Zealand businesses and geography" is being "extended and enhanced." "Yellow is committed to operating the 018 service from Manila in the foreseeable future," Cotterill said.
