The global one-stop call center solutions provider, US outsourcer Vision-X has established its western China contact center in Chengdu's Tianfu Software Park, Sichuan province. The new center will offer services to multinational corporations including Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, Mary Kay and Mitsubishi. The facility has a capacity for up to 2000 seats, equivalent to the total number of its centers in Shanghai and Guangzhou. Chengdu offered Vision-X relatively low costs of operation, production and labor, coupled with a ready source of qualified personnel. Chengdu is emerging as an important ICT hub for the region. Sichuan province concluded a strategic agreement with China's three top telecom operators - China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, to invest 100 billion yuan (US$15.5 billion) in communication infrastructure, hub building and popularity of information. Of the amount, nearly half will be invested in Chengdu.
